Family outing: How about a trip to the beach?
People often ask me for ideas on what to do when booking a photo documentary session. Five hours is a long time, and it’s true that you need to come up with some family activities to keep everyone from getting bored. So I’ve decided to help you out by regularly sharing ideas for some really fun things we can do together!
Today, I’d like to suggest a fun family outing!
How about we go to the beach in Le Crotoy?
Just imagine for a moment:
8:00 a.m. – Meet at the Gare du Nord! The still-warm croissants are in their paper bags, ready to keep the kids occupied on the train. They don’t know the destination yet, and they don’t know they’ll be joined by a surprise guest: a family photographer!
8:15 a.m. – Everyone gets on the train heading to Noyelles-sur-Mer. On the train, we laugh, eat croissants, pull out our coloring books, and watch the scenery roll by. All under the watchful eye of the family photographer, who doesn’t miss a single look of wonder.
10:45 a.m. – We’ve arrived at our destination. Now we have to decide whether to ride our bikes or take the bus to the beach. The kids can’t agree and are bickering a bit—this trip wouldn’t feel real without at least one argument… Mom makes the call, and the family will ride their bikes along the Somme Bay steam train track.
11:30 a.m. Arrival in Le Crotoy, considered one of the most beautiful villages in France. The kids are happy; you can hear the seagulls and smell the sea air. Just in time to take a stroll and start browsing the menus at the town’s restaurants
The afternoon is set aside for a stroll, exploring the fishing port, and taking photos by the sea.
What could be better than spending a day with the family in a place that couldn’t be more relaxing—and creating memories that will last a lifetime!
Let yourself be tempted by the beaches of Normandy
Normandy, with its magnificent beaches and picturesque landscapes, is the perfect place to enjoy a family outing by the sea. Whether in Cabourg, Dieppe, or on another Normandy beach, these moments shared by the sea are so beautiful that they deserve to be captured forever. I would be delighted to join you to capture these precious moments that reflect your family’s love and joy.
Why choose a family trip to the beach?
A family trip to the beach is much more than just a getaway. It’s an opportunity to reconnect, make memories, and spend time together, far from the stresses of everyday life. The wind in your hair, the sound of the waves, the sand beneath your feet… every moment invites relaxation and togetherness. The kids have fun building sandcastles while the adults enjoy a moment of peace. These precious moments then become memories to cherish for years to come.
Capturing the magic of shared moments
As a photographer specializing in family photography, I am committed to capturing that magic. Every smile, every burst of laughter, every knowing glance between parents and children is precious. A photo session during your family outing to the beach allows you to freeze these moments in time. It’s about capturing the authenticity of your interactions and highlighting the joy of life that brings you together.
Imagine yourself on the beach, with your feet in the water, laughing and playing with your children. Every photo I take tells a story—your story. It’s a tribute to your family, your bonds, and those moments of pure joy. The photos you receive will allow you to relive those precious moments over and over again.
Spectacular locations for your memories
Cabourg, with its romantic atmosphere and famous villas, is the perfect spot for a family outing to the beach. Cabourg’s beach, with its fine sand, is ideal for swimming and family fun. The sunsets there are also a real treat for the eyes, adding a touch of magic to your photos.
Dieppe, for its part, is famous for its bustling harbor and spectacular cliffs. Strolling along the boardwalk or exploring the surrounding parks offers plenty of opportunities to capture your family moments. Whether you choose to take photos on the beach, in front of a historic monument, or in the gardens, each location offers a unique and memorable setting.
And if you appreciate the beauty of Normandy’s landscapes, you’ll be pleased to know that other beaches, such as those in Étretat or Honfleur, would also make wonderful backdrops for your photo shoot.
Personalized service tailored to your family's needs
I understand that every family is unique, with its own traditions and preferences. When you book a photo session for your family outing to the beach, I adapt to your needs and your pace. My approach is gentle and respectful, especially when it comes to children. They are the true stars of this adventure, and I make sure they feel comfortable throughout the session.
Let’s say you want to capture a special moment—whether it’s your youngest child’s first swim or your child’s beaming smile as they enjoy an ice cream. I’ll be on the lookout for opportunities to capture these fleeting, precious moments.
Killing two birds with one stone
Booking a photo shoot during your family trip to the beach is the perfect blend of business and pleasure. You get to spend quality time with your family, have fun, and at the same time, create visual memories that will last a lifetime. It’s a way to celebrate the joy of being together while giving yourselves a gift you can share with friends and family.
The Joy of Outdoor Photography
Natural light plays a vital role in photography. On the beach, daylight highlights every detail, allowing you to capture vibrant, lively images. The colors of the sky and sea, the rich textures of the sand, and the radiance of smiles create a dynamic palette for your photos.
What’s more, the outdoor setting adds a unique touch to every photo. The play of light, the movement of the waves, the sand blowing in the wind… all of this helps create rich family portraits
Anyway…
Of course, we’ll probably need to adjust the wedding photography package since we’ll likely spend more than five hours together, but trust me, it’s worth it! You might also want to consider suggesting a weekend trip for both families. It’s a great way to keep costs down and ensure you get beautiful family photos.
This trip is such a wonderful gift for your family. At night, as they drift off to sleep, your children will dream of crashing waves and seagulls—the sea itself will be their gift. In 10 years, they’ll look back on the memories made that day and be overcome with a tender sense of nostalgia. In 10 years, the photos and video will be priceless gifts for your children.
